Molecular Futures
Upcoming New Creation
World Premiere next season
ABOUT
Devised by Véronique Bossé and Jeremy Segal
Molecular Futures is an upcoming new creation for 6-12 year olds that poetically explores the dream-space between life and death.
Inspired by personal experiences, Molecular Futures takes inspiration from the world of advanced medicine: from the sounds of the machines in a pediatric intensive care room, to the doctors’ notes and medical jargon, the piece explores deeper questions related to life, death, and the spaces in between.
A young boy was born with a hole in his heart. He is under anesthesia, connected to strange machines. Is he dreaming? Where is he? What is that space?
The boy is on a journey to find his way back to the waking world, with his mother's presence guiding him through this anesthesia dream. Meanwhile a 3D printer is making him a new heart. But will it be ready by the time he wakes up?
